Dimitsana is located in the center of Peloponnese, about two hours from Athens. To reach Dimitsana from Athens you will follow the Corinth-Tripoli National Road. The road is good and the route restful. As for the Kaza guesthouse, you won’t have any difficulty finding us as we are in the center of the village.
In Dimitsana and the surrounding areas you will find many attractions that are worth visiting before you leave. Walking through the narrow and picturesque alleys of the village, you will discover the ancestral home of the Old Father Germanos but also the house where the Ecumenical Patriarch Gregory V was born, where today the Ecclesiastical Museum of Dimitsana is housed. Also visit the Dimitsana Library and discover rare manuscripts and objects exhibited there.A little outside of Dimitsana you will find the Outdoor Museum of Hydrokinesis, the only one of its kind in Greece, as well as the -uniquely beautiful- Lousios river. Two historical monuments worth visiting are the Monasteries of Filosofos and Prodromou. Access to these points may be difficult, but it is definitely worth it!
Both Dimitsana and the wider area of mountainous Arcadia are suitable for many activities and sports lovers will surely find something to excite them. The place offers unique experiences close to nature, from walks in idyllic landscapes, bike rides to mountaineering with difficult climbs. In the Lousio and Ladonas rivers you will have the opportunity to do rafting, canoe-kayak and various other water sports. Also visit Mainalo, where you will have the opportunity to ski on one of the many slopes you will find.
